As a makeup artist, I have one job that is more important than perfecting your look. That is to keep you, my client, healthy and safe.

For peace of mind during these uncertain times, I wanted to let you know that I have always been following recommended hygienic and sanitary practices, but will be even more diligent moving forward.  Please be aware of my updated practices to give you peace of mind when you’re in my makeup chair. Thank you for your continued trust in Kelly Lakas Makeup.

Process

  • A signed waiver will be required from all clients prior to makeup application.

  • I will be wearing a mask throughout the entire makeup application, and may utilize a face shield or goggles.

  • If you have any symptoms - cough, fever, loss of smell - please contact me to cancel with no penalties.

  • Hands will be washed before and after each makeup application. Hand sanitizer will be present and used often during the application.

  • Only the client should be present during application; all others must remain at a distance of 6 feet or more.

Sanitation

  • All surfaces will be sprayed with 70% alcohol solution and wiped down before setting up the makeup station. My makeup chair will be sprayed and wiped down between clients.

  • Brushes have never been shared between clients previously, and I will continue to do so moving forward. Brushes will have been washed with brush soap and water, sanitized by UV light, and stored in sealed plastic bags

  • Cream products and products like mascara and lipstick have never been “double-dipped”, and will continue that way. Any cream or liquid products will be scraped onto a palette before use. Metal palettes will be sprayed with 70% alcohol and wiped down between each client.

  • Powder products will be sanitized with Beauty So Clean sanitizing spray, which was recently proven to be effective against both bacteria and viruses.
